Sheltering International provides emergence support to all people experiencing abuse and harm. Our program assists with securing community support due to lack of skills and information. We assist service users find and access housing, food and other relief services for everyone in urgent need.

Sheltering International provides materials support such as food and clothing to groups experiencing poverty and abuse. Our program assist with locating and accessing basic necessities such as the distribution food, recreational activities, referral support and access to harm reduction services.

Sheltering International provides protection for children. Our program assist vulnerable children come out of exploitation and abuse. We focus on protecting the most vulnerable children. We support and help children going through abuse and exploitation through mentoring and skills training.

Sheltering International believe that vocational skills training enable independent living. Our program provide sustainable skills training to help service users. By giving people training, skills and trades, we believes that we are giving them power to take control and change their lives forever. 

What We Care For!

Emergence Shelter Response

Sheltering International provides emergence support to all people experiencing abuse and harm. Our program assists with securing community support due to lack of skills and information. We assist service users find and access housing, food and other relief services for everyone in urgent need.

We provide relief intervention emergence support while working with our local partners. We have a network of teams who are able to respond immediately to emergencies who include social workers, health care workers and logistical planners. We are able to locate and attend to victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, human rights violations, and medical needs.  We focus on groups that are most vulnerable especially women, children, and disabled groups. Where possible and appropriate, we are able to reunite individuals with their families and assist below poverty-line families to access services. We sometimes work with the Police and Fire Departments to respond to crisis requests common among the vulnerable.    

Drop-In Program Food Bank

Sheltering International provides materials support such as food and clothing to groups experiencing poverty and abuse. Our program assist with locating and accessing basic necessities such as the distribution food, recreational activities, referral support and access to harm reduction services. 

We provide through our food distribution center emergence supplies to all people. We provide emergency food (1-2 days’ worth) from our distribution center to anyone who comes to us for help. When someone comes to us, we supply them with 7+ days of food that meets the required number of servings for each food group, including a healthy selection of fresh and frozen foods. We direct service users to visit us each time they need food. We value all those who contribute and benefit from efforts to create a community where no one goes hungry. We are continuously striving to optimize food resources to achieve higher standards. We do no discriminate any service user who come to us looking for food.

Child Protection

Sheltering International provides protection for children. Our program assist vulnerable children come out of exploitation and abuse. We focus on protecting the most vulnerable children. We support and help children going through abuse and exploitation through mentoring and skills training.

We provide child education support which we believe is important in giving the young people long term independent lives. We give children skills that will enable them to escape poverty. We support children to empower them with education materials to be able to get skills to pursue a career, and to eventually provide for themselves as adults.  We understand that education is very critical for the development of society and giving the children access to education, the benefits will inevitably filter into the wider community. We support children and we provide them with life-serving training skills. 

Life Skills Vocational Training

 

Sheltering International believe that vocational skills training enable independent living. Our program provide sustainable skills training to help service users. By giving people training, skills and trades, we believes that we are giving them power to take control and change their lives forever. 

We provide hands-on short but high-quality vocational training to individuals who want to join the workforce quickly and put food on the table. We have professionally designed training, tailored to suit the capabilities of the trainees. We train and help distressed and marginalized communities. We help vulnerable groups get life-serving skills. Each training course is free complimented with a certificate upon completion. Our key trades are Computer Literacy, Clothing Design and Tailoring,  Graphic and Website Designing, Video and Music Production.
